The Nexus Pivot ships PDF, video and card-game apps across iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac. We write the apps, the store listings in 25 languages, the support replies and the guides on this site.

What we build and why

Every app here shares one design decision: the work happens on your device. A PDF you edit in PDFPivot is changed on your phone or Mac and stays there. That is a deliberate constraint, and it is the harder way to build — it means implementing PDF text editing, OCR and compression locally instead of calling someone else's API.

The reason is simple. The documents people most want to edit are the ones they would least want to hand over: identity documents, medical letters, bank statements, contracts. A tool that never needs to see them is a better tool.

The apps

  • PDFPivot for Android and iPhone — read, edit, annotate, sign, scan, OCR, convert and compress PDFs on a phone or tablet. Free with ads, with an optional one-time unlock.
  • PDFPivot for Mac — the desktop editor, version 1.1.5, free to use with a one-time $59.99 licence that removes the export mark.
  • VidPivot for Android — an in-app browser with a WhatsApp status saver for statuses shared with you, and tools for keeping your own media.
  • The Odyssey card games for iPhone and iPad — Solitaire, FreeCell and Spider Odyssey: large-print, high-contrast solitaire with Easy, Medium and Hard tiers, a winnable deal every time, a fresh Today’s Deal and four-colour cards.

How we make money

Plainly, because it affects how you should read anything we write: the mobile apps are free and carry advertising, and add a PDFPivot watermark to exported files; a one-time PDFPivot Pro unlock removes both on Android, and on iPhone and iPad you can choose a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock. PDFPivot for Mac is a one-time purchase sold directly through Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Your data stays yours. The recommendations on our comparison pages are unpaid: every outbound link to a competing product is a plain link, chosen on merit.

Writing on this site

The how-to guides and comparisons are written by The Nexus Pivot, from working on these problems directly. Where a comparison includes one of our own apps, it is listed alongside the alternatives and we say plainly where a different tool is the better answer. Where a page cites a number, it links to the source. If you find something wrong on this site, tell us and it gets corrected.
